I lost my purpose and meaning to my life through chronic illness. Living with pain and fatigue daily, unable to plan or manage basic everyday tasks. The loss I felt from not being able to work and the frustration at not be independent with tasks, took my life the way I knew it. Depression took hold of me and my motivation for life disappeared.
Through the talking therapy and support with pacing my life through scheduling tasks allowing for my pain and fatigue, I learned to reassess my purpose.
I learnt that my purpose was now focusing on myself and how I can improve my quality of life by allowing myself a balanced set of tasks that were achievable.
I learned to accept that I am unable to do what I used to, but I was still capable just in a different way.
