"Recent cancer treatment"

About: Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / General Surgery Victoria Hospital / Haematology/Oncology Day Unit

(as the patient),

I have over the last 7 months undergone a number of treatments and operations at Victoria Hospital after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

This involved an operation to fit a stoma, radiotherapy, chemo-therapy and finally an operation to remove the remaining tumour. I am delighted to report the treatments have been a success and I am now cancer free.

My family and I are most grateful for the care and professionalism given to me by Mr Proctor, who from diagnosis to cure went above and beyond.

His presence and ability to answer concerns, sometimes in his own time after a busy day, reduced anxiety experienced by my wife and I.

Personally, I quickly established a trust in Mr Proctor (now justifiable) which made these last 7 months considerably less dramatic.

My family and I now have the highest regard for those responsible for my care and thought it respectful to inform you of this.

I am so pleased to hear your news that you are now cancer free. It has clearly been a traumatic time with a lot of treatments and knowing that you felt supported so well through it all will mean a lot to the team.

I wish you all the best for the future and thank you again for taking the time to provide this feedback.

Best wishes
