"Website information misleading"

About: Lakeside Healthcare Stamford

I have just spent 25 minutes on the phone to book a routine appointment. Lakeside's website says they can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance using SystmOnline, or by calling or visiting the practice.

The member of staff who answered my call told me that no appointments were available and I should phone at 8am the next day.

I asked if I had misunderstood the wording on the website and was told that only a certain number of routine appointments are made available each day up to 2 weeks in advance.

I believe that this restricted access to appointments should be made clear to patients accessing online information and should accurately reflect the current appointment procedure. I completely understand why patients become frustrated with staff after a lengthy and unnessary wait on the phone.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

I would like to share with you that patient's have the option to book a routine appointment up to two weeks in advance with a doctor, or up to six weeks in advance with a nurse or other healthcare professional. This information is detailed on our website under "request a appointment."
