"My road to recovery from anxiety"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

My recovery started when I was discharged from hospital in May 2023 after a two weeks stay. I was rushed to with a suspected stroke, this entailed slurred speech, balance problems, and vision impairment. I was at a very low ebb which brought on anxiety related problems. I was scared, worried how this would effect my family.

My doctor referred me to inclusion team it was agreed that I would undertake CBT therapy.  This when I met Kelly who made me feel at ease. We discussed my problems, i.e. my worries/my thoughts.

Over the next few weeks I was given tasks to do this entailed challenging all aspects of my problems to apply logic to be more analytical. To find solutions this was done with the encouraging guidance from Kelly, Eventually I started to go out for unaided walks slow but sure the walks got longer and better also my balance improved this helped to gain my confidence back.

Today I am in a good place: enjoying my journey to wellness this is due to all of the help I received from Kelly and the inclusion team.

Kind regards

Dear intensityhr76,

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking your time to give a feedback form your experience with Inclusion. Thurrock.

It is totally understandable after such a scary life changing experience to be concerned about how that will impact your loved ones and to worry about it.

I am pleased to hear that Kelly has put you at ease, and she discussed with you about your worries and problems. Also, happy that you took her advice and challenged yourself to do things to boost your confidence.

It seems like your hard work with the guidance of your therapist Kelly has paid off, you should be very proud of yourself, I will pass to Kelly your nice feedback and I wish you all the best on your journey to wellness.

Your journey is inspiring, and I hope your feedback encourages others experiencing similar challenges to seek help.

Best wishes,

Ann.
