My recovery started when I was discharged from hospital in May 2023 after a two weeks stay. I was rushed to with a suspected stroke, this entailed slurred speech, balance problems, and vision impairment. I was at a very low ebb which brought on anxiety related problems. I was scared, worried how this would effect my family.
My doctor referred me to inclusion team it was agreed that I would undertake CBT therapy. This when I met Kelly who made me feel at ease. We discussed my problems, i.e. my worries/my thoughts.
Over the next few weeks I was given tasks to do this entailed challenging all aspects of my problems to apply logic to be more analytical. To find solutions this was done with the encouraging guidance from Kelly, Eventually I started to go out for unaided walks slow but sure the walks got longer and better also my balance improved this helped to gain my confidence back.
Today I am in a good place: enjoying my journey to wellness this is due to all of the help I received from Kelly and the inclusion team.
Kind regards
