"The care and treatment received from various services in NHS Fife"

About: General practices in Fife Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Cardiology Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy Victoria Hospital / Radiology Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as a service user),

After reading that many people now have a low opinion of the services offered by the NHS I would like to share my thoughts on the matter.

Over the past 9 months or so I have seen more of the NHS than I would have liked. My experience has been almost completely positive. The standard of care has been excellent and the professionalism of the staff in the main has been excellent.

Whilst somewhat reductive I would like to give marks out of 10 for the various services I have used. A lower mark does not necessarily mean a bad result, merely that some staff have set such a high standard.

Thanks for taking the time to give this positive feedback, I am sorry you have had to attend the NHS services quite as often, but I am glad it has been mostly exceptionally positive, From an ED perspective we will strive to reach a 10.

Update posted by The FifeMacMan (a service user)

The FifeMacMan here. Just to re-state what I wrote. "A lower mark does not necessarily mean a bad result, merely that some staff have set such a high standard". I felt I had to give Ashley 11/10 and my GP's 10/10 as they helped me through a cancer scare. Under other circumstances all the 9/10's would have been 10/10

Dear The FifeMacMan

My name is Jackie and I am the Senior Charge Nurse for Urology Diagnostic & Treatment Centre. I would like to thank you very much for sharing your feedback to care opinion and rating all the areas of which you have encountered, I am sorry that you have had experience in so many.

Your feedback is really appreciated and provides us with insight into how we are performing. Patient-centred care is paramount and my team and I will always strive to provide the best care possible.

It is very reassuring to hear that most of your care has been positive, and that your feel the standard of care and professionalism of staff in the main has been excellent.

I do not see a rating for the Urology department, this may have been and oversight. I wonder if you would kindly provide this.

Kind regards

Jackie
