I recently went to the GP feeling unwell. My GP thought I may have had a TIA. Bloods and a heart trace were taken, and the GP said they would refer me to the TIA clinic at Altnagelvin hospital.
I was contacted by the clinic and given an appointment. Bloods and heart trace were taken by Nurse Amanda, followed by a consultation with Dr Rizeq and Stroke Nurse Valerie, who organised a head MRI scan and Doppler scan to measure the blood flow in my carotid artery, making sure they were both done that day whilst I was in the hospital.
We are all aware the NHS is in crisis but this was not evident in the treatment I received. I could not have been treated more quickly. The Dr, nurses and medical imaging staff were professional, caring and provided a first class service.
I cannot praise them highly enough.
"Excellent service from NHS"
