My husband is undergoing chemotherapy for stage 4 cancer. Last Saturday he developed a high temperature and was advised to go to the accident and emergency department.
On arrival it took about 20 minutes to be triaged but following triage we were taken through to a private room in majors where he was seen promptly by a senior doctor. The doctor prescribed intravenous antibiotics, a nurse did the cannulation and then administered the antibiotics and took bloods. My husband had a chest x Ray and urine test performed.
After the blood results he was discharged with oral antibiotics.
We were very impressed with the care we received.
"Timely treatment "
