"Phlebotomy"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Community Hub

(as a service user),

I attend Dr Gray's blood hub for bloods prior to chemotherapy for secondary breast cancer. I felt fine but a little bit apprehensive as it was not the usual blood hub members of staff.

I find it less anxiety provoking when it’s staff I am familiar with and I have the confidence they will be successful with phlebotomy and obtain blood on first attempt, this is paramount when veins can be limited and vulnerable due to ongoing phlebotomy and chemotherapy.

Dear microscopiumxc58,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you felt apprehensive on your recent visit to the Community Hub. If you would like to get in touch with myself we can discuss further.

Kind regards

Bernadette Mackay
