"Royal Surrey County Hospital / St Luke's Cancer…"

About: Provide

To the Chief Executive and Board Members of the Royal Surrey National Health Service Foundation Trust,

I am writing to highlight exceptional performance that I’ve been the fortunate recipient of at the Royal Surrey Hospital and St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, and express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the excellent care and treatment your staff have given me during my recent course of radiotherapy and ongoing chemotherapy. You have a truly remarkable team of professionals under your helm, who work with dedication, compassion, and expertise.

I‘m so grateful to the nurses, technicians and staff of the Oncology, Radiology, Haematology, Imaging, Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy departments. I’m currently being attended to by the nurses and assistants in the Chilworth Day Unit who are simply true professionals. The Clinical Oncology Nursing Staff and the Pre-Habilitation Team have been in regular contact with me to check on my welfare. Due to the format of this feedback form I am unable to name my consultants, or their assistants and team members, but please know that I have a high degree of confidence that I will get through my current health challenges, which in itself relieves me of much stress and anxiety.

Your staff are making a difficult and challenging time for me and my family much more bearable. I have a long road ahead, with an upcoming major surgery, followed by even more chemotherapy which will run through the summer into fall. I feel so grateful that I can look ahead with the knowledge that my care will be the best available anywhere.

Beyond the team members looking after me personally, I should also mention that the general attitude of every single staff member I’ve encountered has been one of compassion and a genuine willingness to help. The professionals throughout your facility reflect well on the National Health Service and are a great credit to the hospital and the community.

Finally, thank you and the Board Members for your contributions toward making the workplace a positive environment where your staff members are able to thrive and share their compassion.

Sincerely,

Tim
