"The care I received for an emergency filling"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Emergency Dental Treatment Centre Level 1

(as a service user),

I needed to attend the Glasgow Emergency Dental Hospital for an emergency filling. I was in Glasgow only for a couple of days, hence why the emergency. I just wanted to say that Emma and Kerry who looked after me during this appointment were fantastic!

I called around half 9 in the morning and was seen by 11:45, which in my opinion is a very quick service to get an emergency appointment. Both were so helpful, and I was grateful for the way they treated me. I must say that I am usually very nervous about dental appointments, and I even forgot to mention this to Emma and Kerry, but even without mention this to them, they naturally had such a calming presence, they made me feel at ease during the appointment.

Emma was great, she spoke through me while they were working in my mouth and discussed things that I mentioned that I liked, which kept me very much distracted and helped to pass the time. I am very grateful to them, and I felt they deserve to hear my appreciation for everything they did for me.

I was sorry to hear that you required emergency dental care and hope that you are now on your way to recovery. By sharing your story with others this can really help patients with similar worries in relation to attending for dental treatment especially for emergency dental care.

I was so pleased to hear how much the dental team put you at ease and demonstrated wonderful and effective communication on the day while managing your dental treatment during your visit.
