"Cannot praise all the staff highly enough at every stage"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neurosurgery (Ward 64 – 66)

(as a service user),

My family and I wish to comment on the excellent care my father received while under treatment by Mr Alakandy’s team in Neurosurgery. The kind and patient care he received was very much appreciated during a very distressing time for him and our whole family.

Everyone we came in contact with was incredibly helpful and patient. Mr Alakandy’s secretary Nichola was very helpful in the early stages of my father’s treatment and as we continued the whole team of surgeons we met were fantastic.

Mr Alakandy, Mr Lammy and Mr Hall were very kind and sympathetic to my father’s situation and worked very hard to give him the best possible outcome from his surgery.

Prior to and after his surgery the care he received from the entire nursing and support staff was second to none. This includes but is not limited to Georgia and Megan the staff nurses and Sister Linda on Ward 64, Eden the Occupational Therapist, Maria in Speech Therapy and Lesley our specialist nurse who’s support has been invaluable to our whole family.

We are very indebted to the whole team and cannot praise all the staff highly enough at every stage of my father’s illness.

Hi Flower3479

I'm sorry it was necessary for your father to undergo surgery recently. That must have been so stressful for the entire family. I hope he is doing as well as he can be at the moment.

Thank you for taking the time out to give us such positive feedback in relation to your father's care. I know that everyone will be delighted to receive such positive feedback and it means so much to everyone that families feel well supported. I will make sure that Maria your Speech and Language therapist receives the feedback too. She will be very pleased to learn that her input made a difference

Wishing your father good health and many thanks again

Dear Flower 3479

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your Father’s care and treatment from the Neurosurgery Team. Being in hospital can be a very anxious and distressing time, for the person, and also for their family so it is great to hear that the staff were there to support you. It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the Team and I'm sure they will be delighted with your comments.

Please pass on my best wishes to your Father.

Take Care

Nicole
