"Alcohol Detoxification complete, time for home"

When I arrived at Dame Carol, I was feeling anxious, nervous and upset.  I was taken into the small office at the front of the building where they asked me various questions about my recovery journey. 

I just felt like I wanted to return back home as it was a new environment that I was unsure of.  I wanted to complete my Detox but still wanted to return home at the same time.  Part of me is glad that I stayed and completed my detox. 

I have enjoyed meeting new friends along with eating the cakes. 

Once I completed my detox, I was allowed to go out for a walk with a Recovery Worker which was nice to get out of the building and check out the second hand shops.

I feel it would be better if the floor was carpeted, so it was not so noisy at night when people were walking up the stairs as I was on the ground floor.   They moved by bed away from the wall next to the stairs which helped me get a good night sleep. 

I felt cold at first in my room, I was then provided with an extra heater which kept my room warm.   I was also given an extra blanket which helped.   The pillows are very flat, I was provided with an extra pillow which helped.

I would recommend coming here to anyone seeking recovery from alcohol addiction.
