"The nurses were lovely"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Fracture Clinic

(as the patient),

I had a bad fall, which resulted in a 3cm tear in my foot and a broken toe.   The tear was very deep and quickly became infected. I was initially seen at Vale of Leven Hospital in the fracture unit and had a five-hour wait to be seen because of some system issue for which staff apologised.

After that first day, staff loked after me amazingly well for several weeks, changing my bandage and re-treating the tear twice per week,

The nurses were lovely, kind and helpful, actually treating me early in the day before my formal appointment times with a doctor popping in as well - again outwith my appointment time - once per week as well to check up on progress and advise on ongoing treatment. So the most I stayed there was 30 minutes, including treatment, which was really great.

I am incredibly grateful to Anne and Brenda in particular for their kindness.

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to write comments on the Care Opinion.

You would have initially been reviewed at Minor Injuries Unit which unfortunately can be very busy although the Practitioners in that Department try to review their Patients as quickly & efficiently as possible.

I am very pleased you received a good service from all the Fracture clinic Staff & will pass on your kind compliments to both Brenda & Anne.

Wishing you a full recovery

Kind Regards

Joan SCN
