I was told by Doctor to get a BP check with a pharmacist as my BP was high and I needed to discuss starting tablets. When I got there, my appointment was changed to a nurse without telling me. This nurse could not prescribe and so told me to do my own BPs and hand in sheet. I did this and handed my weeks readings to the receptionist. My readings were very high but 2 weeks on I’ve still not been contacted by the surgery. I also spoke to the receptionist when a week had passed and was told they’ve not looked at them yet and will contact me. I’ve already had what felt like a stroke a few month’s previous and very concerned I am being swept under the carpet - is this because I’m 85. I feel really let down and disappointed by what can only be described as incompetence - my appointment should never have been changed by the practice in the first place. It’s now heading on for 3 weeks that I should have started tablets. There’s a big push about patients not getting BOs done but what’s the point if the GP doesn’t bother to follow them up!
