"There every step of the way"

About: Northern Health & Social Care Trust / Continuity of Midwifery Carer Service (The Lotus Team)

(as a service user),

At my first scan I was incredibly nervous, however the lotus team (Kirsty and Caitlin) made me feel at ease straight away. Caitlin was then my named midwife throughout my pregnancy - and I will forever be grateful. She was there at every step of the way to answer any question, no matter how big or small, every concern and every worry I had throughout my pregnancy - and as this was my first pregnancy,  there were many, and the odd time Caitlin wasnt available, Sarah met me for my appointments and was so friendly, I felt right at home with her also. Caitlin was even there to deliver my daughter, during such a nerve-wracking time, it was amazing to have the familiar face with me who I had developed a bond with. And as well as that, everyone else at Antrim were so friendly and helpful, each midwife I met whilst being induced, in the delivery suite and then the maternity ward were incredible and I'm so appreciative of all their help and support. The continuity of care within the lotus team made me feel cared for and I was so well looked after, I loved every minute. Thank you so much Lotus team!

Dear Faye1003,

Thank you so much for taking the time to send your feedback regarding the Lotus team. Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your little one! I will ensure this wonderful feedback is given to the team, it always means so much to hear how the team impact the women and families they care for. One of the benefits of continuity of midwifery carer teams is the facilitation of building trusting relationships; your feedback is a testament to that.

We have exciting plans to introduce further continuity of midwifery carer teams within the Northern Trust so more women and families can experience having a known midwife at the time of birth.

I will also pass on your positive feedback surrounding Antrim and I am delighted to hear the experience you had during your induction and after your little one had arrived.

Once again thank you Faye1003 for taking the time,

Best Wishes,

Rachel
