"Medication request not actioned"

About: Abbey House Medical Practice

I ordered a prescription on March 15th asking for a repeat of medication I had been prescribed the month previously. I added the note to my normal prescrion order on the practice repeat order system. I have not received any notification about this so called the practice on March 24th to check the status of it. I was told it hadn't been actioned and it would be done that day and the GP would be informed that I was chasing it. I've gone to the chemist today to pick it up and it hasn't been actioned. I have now been informed by the GP practice that it will take a couple of days to be actioned in the meantime I have now run out of the medication.

It is not helpful to patients when we try to support the practice by not taking appointments unnecessarily when the system then works against us and despite giving ample time for something that would seem relatively straightforward doesn't get done.

I would not be asking for this medication if I did not need it.

The medication is Mirtazapine 15mg

Dear Julie Hoare

I am sorry you did not receive the service you were expecting from our Practice. Unfortunately your medication was not a repeat prescription so was dealt with separately to the rest of your request. I understand this issue has already been resolved, but do apologise for the delay you encountered.

Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns and I confirm that we have fed back to our team to reduce the likelihood of this occurring again.
