About: Learning Disability Community Services / Day Opportunities

(as a service user),

I attended Riverside school in Antrim and as a school leaver I was referred to Day opportunities programme. My package of opportunities has included NRC life skills, supported paid employment.

I work in a cafe where I was originally supported by mencap. Now my day opps co-ordinator, Lynn, supports/monitors me within this role along with me other weekly opportunities package and my week is perfect for my needs.

I am so happy I chose day opportunities

Hi woodpeckerwx74; thank you for taking the time to post your story. It's wonderful to hear that you are so happy you choose day opportunities after being referred to us on leaving school. This can be a difficult time leaving school and your friends and sometimes not very sure what to do next. Its great to hear that you have received the support you need and have continued your further education at college and that you are in paid employment in a local cafe with ongoing support from your Day Opportunities Coordinator Lynn and that you describe you week as "perfect". What a lovely story to read and wishing you a relaxing Easter.
