"The programme has really changed my life for the better."

About: Learning Disability Community Services / Day Opportunities

(as a service user),

I attended Broadway workshop until it closed. I then was referred to Day opportunities programme.

My day opps co-ordinator referred me to Newtown Abbey base originally 2 days per week and I have now increased to 3 days per week.

I really enjoy attending the base and I feel it was the best move for me. I am very happy at the base and enjoy all the different activities.

I really appreciate the day opps staff and the programme has really changed my life for the better.

Hi lionqh88, That was a long time ago when Broadway Workshops closed. I was involved at that time with the closure and I know this was a difficult time for those who attended and their carers. It was important to make sure we had agreed personal day service packages in place for everyone at that time so I'm really pleased to read your story and how much you have enjoyed the Day Opportunities Programme which you say has really changed your life for the better; wow! That's a great compliment for your Day Opportunities and Base Coordinators and all those who have supported you at Newtownabbey Base and for yourself doing so well with community based day opportunities. Wishing you every continued success.
