I felt incredibly anxious for my appointment as it had the power to completely change my life. Unfortunately, the practitioner's assistant running my appointment dismissed 80% of my symptoms and notes me as 'low-risk' – which could not be further from the truth.
After 15 years of being misdiagnosed, I thought after a five year hiatus maybe the calibre of assessment staff in the UK might have got better. It hasn't.
I once again left an NHS mental health service appointment feeling like my time had been wasted, my problems had been belittled, and I was no further to getting the help and support I need.
