"Management of my fathers pain"

About: Community Services - North Devon / Urgent Community Response (UCR) North Devon District Hospital / Acute Hospital at Home

(as a relative),

On Friday my dad who is usually able to manage at home developed pain around his pelvis which limited his ability to cope, and forced him to take to his bed. On saturday I phoned the ambulance service for help.

Instead of an ambulance a paramedic from the Ucr team turned up who assessed Dad, and arranged medication for his pain, and also arranged for support workers to visit twice a day to help with his personal care.

I was kept informed of progress over the next couple of days, and on Monday he arranged for the Acute hospital at home team to come out and see dad.

My impression of this service is that they are absolutely brilliant. They are quick and efficient. I cannot suggest any improvements. Thank you
