I was a patient on ward 4 at the Hairmyres hospital and the food that was being served up was of the lowest quality and the portions were so small that they were not enough to get nourishment or help me to get food to build me up. Also the food I got was always cold or going cold and any cups of tea were always cold. If I asked for more I was ignored or told there wasn't anything left when I could see that there was food on the trolley.

Dear Liberatoreh96

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding the standard of food provided whilst you were in hospital. I am sorry that portions were small and that food and drinks were cold. I would expect staff to respond to your request of additional portions and again apologise that that this was not actioned for you.

There is a system in place to check food temperatures before serving and therefore I will ask for a review of processes within the ward. I will share your comments with the catering manager and ward 4 nurse manager as both will be disappointment to know that we have not provided the standard of food and nutrition that we would expect.

Please be assured we will act on your feedback and review the issues you have raised.
