"Having this service in our town is such a privilege."

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as a parent/guardian),

My 8 year old unfortunately had an accident with boiling soup, giving her bad burns on both her arms.

After administering first aid we rung 111 who said we would be contacted by minor injuries at Arbroath infirmary. They rung almost immediately and asked us to bring our daughter in.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who greeted my daughter by her name and instantly made her feel at ease, then we were invited through by Fiona our nurse who was so patient with my daughter and provided her with lots of reassurance.

We were not rushed and she explained everything, she was doing. The service was fantastic and having this service in our town is such a privilege.

Dear AlisonM78,

Thank you for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion about our service. Your thoughts and comments are very important to us.

I am sorry to hear about the burns to your daughter's arms. This must have been very frightening and upsetting for you both.

It is great to hear that you received 'fantastic' care. Phoning NHS 24 is your quickest way to get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. By phoning 111 you ensured your daughter was seen quickly in the correct department by our friendly and caring staff.

I will make sure that all the staff in Arbroath Minor Injury Unit are aware of your kind comments. We wish your daughter a speedy recovery.

Regards
