"I felt really proud of myself"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as the patient),

The midwife’s were reassuring when breaking my waters and all the examinations. They made me feel really comfortable during the Labour which I thought wasn’t going to be the easiest or nicest experience but the midwife’s made it one of the best experiences of my life I felt really proud of myself afterwards.

I did also feel really stressed for the birth as I thought she was going to have problems with her weight after picking it up on a scan but she was born very healthy. After baby girl was born I felt I had so much support and reassurance from everyone as I felt a little nervous handling her at first just with how fragile she feels but I’m a lot happier doing so now!
