"I found most staff to be fantastic"

I spent 3 weeks on Weaver Ward, part of Brooker Centre. I was sent out of area due to no space local to me. I found most of the staff to be fantastic. I was able to form a good relationship with many staff on the day shift.

Sadly I can’t say the same about nights.

I did approach day staff and the ward manager and I do hope something was done about the issues. The day staff put up with so much from some patients, being verbally and physically assaulted. This isn’t the place to send those who need a secure unit or 1–1, it’s not fair on staff at all or other patients. 

Other patients were lovely and helped me feel settled and included when I was unsure. 

I was sad to leave and be transferred to a closer hospital.
