I have worked with Debbie for a while, she worked with me and helped me secure employment. The work was good at first but I had a bereavement and then things became difficult. This did not phase Debbie she worked along side me supporting and planning for my return to work.
Unfortunately things then hit me very hard and I had a breakdown and was hospitalized, this experience was horrendous but that is a different story. When I left the hospital I was contacted by my manager who put pressure on me to return to work, Debbie again rose to the occasion.
Debbie wrote a very concise letter to my manager asking them to back off but worded a bit more eloquently. It was amazing to me to have someone on my side and there for the long haul . My manager has indeed backed off. Debbie has let me go at my pace and never pressures me ever for which I am very grateful.
Debbie has been meeting with me every 2 weeks or so as she is as always more mindful on my recovery than even some of the clinicians I have worked with, although I have a good psychiatric nurse too.
Debbie has told me when the time comes she will be at my side when I am ready to return to my previous job, or to look at being moved to a more appropriate section.
I feel more confident about the future just knowing Debbie is there negotiating with my employer and with DWP and she has sent me to the Ark for support to help with a pip claim too and that has also been helpful. I am sure this story will progress but I am sure it will be positive with someone as strong and determined as Debbie. Thanks Debbie me and my girl are very grateful.
