I have been unwell for a while, and one of the big problems has been long covid. Things can happen to me very suddenly and last for a while or go away quickly. Because of this, the GP put me in touch with the OT team. In the beginning, I was very sceptical as I've never asked for help with my mental health or exercise in the past, but I realised I was sinking so met with Lorna the OT.
Lorna didn't push me, she asked me questions, and let me talk in my own time, and she didn't judge me. At times, she came with an assistant called Orla.
They gave me lots of hints about exercises I could do, which has helped a wee bit with pain, but mostly I think it has helped me mentally and lifted my spirits. They have been to my house to see if they could advise me about things to support me with my mobility. They supported me in filling in a form to see if I could get a suitable ground-floor flat / accommodation.
The support has been exemplary. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved; my GP, Lorna, and Orla. It is very much appreciated.
