"Broken wrist"

About: Outpatients / Fracture Clinic Outpatients Centre / Musculoskeletal (MSK) Hub Stirling Care Village / Minor injuries unit

(as the patient),

I fell and broke my wrist. It was set in a back plaster cast in the Stirling Minor Injuries hospital on the same day and referred to the Virtual Fracture Clinic at FVRH, Larbert. A week later I saw the Orthopedic consultant, had the wrist realigned and a permanent cast put on. The timescales were good and the consultant very willing to give an explanation of the injury and timescales

The nursing staff in the plaster room were excellent, gentle and made me feel at ease. The doctor manipulated the wrist under Entonox. The nurses told me how to use the gas and kept talking to me throughout the very painful process, but I would have liked more of an explanation of exactly what was about to happen from the Doctor.
