"Most professional, caring and empathetic"

About: Victoria Hospital / Pre-assessment

(as the patient),

I went for a pre-assessment appointment at the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy Fife  prior to having a kidney removed due to cancer. This was carried out by a lovely nurse, Nikki.

She couldn't have been more caring and made me feel at ease right away. I was then seen by other nurses for blood tests and an ECG exam. All the nurses were most professional, caring and empathetic.

I don't think enough credit is given to these angels who work so hard doing what can sometimes be very trying. Our NHS is a great institution which many do not appreciate - all the staff working short handed but still doing a fantastic job.  Thank you everyone.

Dear mikekm88,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such fantastic feedback on the pre-assessment department.

I am delighted to hear that Nikki made you feel at ease, and that all the staff involved in your care were professional, caring and empathetic.

It is important to us as a team to ensure patients feel supported and well informed ahead of surgery.

I will be sure to pass on your feedback to the team.

On behalf of the pre-assessment team I wish you well with your upcoming surgery and recovery.

Steph
