"My appointment I needed to cancel"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Radiology

(as a service user),

I was off sick from my work and had received a letter for a CT scan in South Tyrone hospital.

 2 weeks before and on my return to work I could not get the next day off to attend my appointment, so I asked my husband to ring and cancel it as I was going into a meeting.

He rang me back to say the member of staff on the phone was very rude and said they told him I was to ring in person. I rang and they were very rude to me also, said you had the letter for a few weeks and why was I leaving it to the day before.

This member of staff would not listen to me, and kept saying give me a day to book another appointment so u don't cancel at short notice again. I asked them to just send the letter out and they never said goodbye or anything, they  just put the phone down.

I think a person like that should not be answering phone calls like that, it was terrible.
