GP unable to advise regarding suitable contraceptive to take alongside having migraines.
I went to Stafford contraception clinic for some advice regarding different contraception options, the lovely nurse took my history and was able to inform me of a new option, a 12/13 weekly injection that you do yourself.
Being a nurse myself I’m familiar with subcutaneous injections and I feel this will be a great option for me to use from now on. The nurse was very thorough, she explained the process and the contraception, she talked me through how to administer and also watched me administer the first dose ensuring I was able to and comfortable to do so. She then prescribed me a 12 month course of sayana press to take home. This is much more convenient and takes away the stress of waiting for prescriptions to be ready at the pharmacy etc, and also trying to get into a GP for an appointment.
