Dad was admitted to hospital in Spring 2023...he had a fall and fractured his humerus. Due to an outbreak of covid 19 the ward was isolated. This led to an extended stay and minimal movement based therapy. After 4 weeks of being bedridden, dad was unable to stand or move himself with the walker, which he had been able to do prior to admission. He was subsequently discharged to residential care for assessment. His mobility didn't improve. As a family we decided to care for dad at home with the aid of private carers.
Harriet assessed dad in the care home and advised that he should only be moved by hoist (this wasn't always happening). Harriet assessed our facilities at home and provided the equipment centre with a list of items that dad would need. These were quickly delivered by the wonderful Phil, and alternative items were supplied subject to further review by Harriet. She was also involved when dad fell out of bed...no serious injury...and arranged for a lower bed and a crash mat to be delivered. Harriet has been extremely helpful and accessible for advice and guidance, making a very difficult time in our lives as easy as possible. Thank you 😊
