"My experience terrifies me of ever getting pregnant again."

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a service user),

I felt I wasn't believed when I said I needed to push (when my baby was crowning).  The painful contractions were apparently my own fault for not breathing properly. I was told I wasn't in labour because my waters hadn't broken (I was actually 7cm dilated).

I found the midwives I seen throughout my entire pregnancy couldn't have cared any less, and during birth it was no different (except for one midwife). Only one out of 7 midwives actually listened to me when I was in labour.

My experience terrifies me of ever getting pregnant again.

Dear Nw000,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. I can only apologise that you were not happy with the care you received from your community midwife or as an inpatient.

I would very much like you to give me a call and we could talk through your issues and put a plan in place for a future pregnancy.

Best Wishes
