"Great service and great staff"

My dad it’s 74 years old and was referred to Hospital at home by his GP with delirium he also suffers from heart failure and prostate cancer. He fell and broke his hip in January and after a month long stay in hospital he was discharged, hip fixed but with urine infection and bed sores anyway that’s another story.

After his referral to Hospital at home the quality of care has been exceptional within an hour of being referred a nurse was there taking bloods and doing lots of tests. My mum also in her 70’s is my dads main carer, the nurse was very informative and really put my mum and dad at ease. After the nurse left a doctor arrived to check on my dad.

Later that day Doctor called to say blood results were back and had arranged for chemist to change some medication of my dads, and slowly he’s been getting better. He has been under hospital at home for nearly 3 weeks and is on verge of being discharged back to his gp. He has seen at least 1 nurse/doctor everyday since. After finding out what bug was in his urine a nurse came out at 7pm to administer intravenous antibiotics even although it could take her over finishing time. Nothing was a bother to any of the staff. My mum needed extra help with aids and my dad need physiotherapist Hospital at home also arranged for this. I honestly believe if my dad was admitted to hospital he wouldn’t have got out again this service is amazing and is the only reason my dad got over his this period. I thank all the staff that has been involved in my dad’s care and recovery hopefully he doesn’t need anymore hospital visits but if he does I will be asking for Hospital at home. Great service and great staff.
