"Poor service"

About: Family Doctors

Went to speak to a GP after a fall our running, had a sustained a head injury&facial bruising. Was told via receptionist to get to A&E,no one saw me at the surgery or check up on my injury or what state I was in. I was on my own. I am in my late 60's.I had been concussed from the fall. This was a dispiriting response from the surgery,no one bothered to even see how I was at any time,a horrible experience left alone to cope.

Dear Claire

I am disappointed to read that you felt left alone to cope. I can assure you if there was any clinician available at the surgery to help they would have done. We have on numerous occasions assisted in people falling outside the surgery and our HCA has sat with them until the ambulance has arrived which can be a lengthy time.

However as you didn't received this I an assuming our clinicians were busy with patients and the advice you were given to attend A&E was correct especially as you were concussed.

I will discuss the incident with the staff to check if this was the case.

Many Thanks

The Family Doctors
