"Visit to pilgrim hospital"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Pilgrim Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

Parking is a nightmare and you need to provide alternative parking or people will be late for appointments.

The fracture clinic was brilliant and the diagnosis as expected, however the horrific wait in x-ray needs addressing. The calling system leaves much to be desired when the person calling wears a mask and has problematic accent.

The x-ray chap was first class.

Dear Susan158

Thank you for taking the time to send some feedback regarding the experience you had recently in our hospital.

I am sorry to hear that you had to wait a long time in the Xray department and that when you were called forward it was difficult to hear your name due to the staff member wearing a mask and their accent. I will let the team know.

The department is always busy as you can imagine, particularly at certain times of the day. We do our best to see patients in a timely way, however sometimes emergencies will come and delay will occur. Regarding the difficulty hearing your name being called, this has been a ongoing issue since the pandemic and we were all wearing masks. However we do try to be clear when speaking to patients and relatives whilst wearing a mask.

I am saddened in relation to your comments regarding a problematic accent, our team is made up of a wide variety of different people all working together to ensure a good service for our patients and your final comment about the Radiographer doing a good job is great to hear.

Regards

Matron Cathy
