I had been diagnosed with a melanoma and as a result, under the care of the consultant Mr Scott, had EWI surgery in February 2024 to my abdomen and removal of lymph nodes from my left armpit.
From the time of my early morning arrival until my discharge everyone I came in contact with treated me so well and inspired confidence.
In particular I would like to highly commend the following medical staff:
1. The lady who took the scan images in the nuclear medicine department as she very successfully handled my claustrophobia.
2. Both the lead and assistant anaesthetists who were exceptionally calm and reassuring in their preparation.
3. Mr Scott who spoke to me that day before the surgery, and afterwards when he informed me that it had gone well and been straightforward. He would have a follow-up meeting with me after the results of the biopsies became available.
In the circumstances I could not have asked for more and in my opinion these commendations are well deserved.
"Everyone I met treated me well and inspired confidence"
