As American spending time in beautiful Yorkshire, I had a minor 'spill' during a 'ramble.' Result: snapped thumb diagnosed as gamekeepers/(preferred) skiiers thumb. Had heard of Nhs lacking personnel & timely treatment. Staff overworked, underpaid. Did not want to be a burden on system. However, decided condition should be evaluated, and soon.
The entire staff was sympathetic and caring. Yes, I was there for 6+ hours but I received adequate attention & care.
I cannot say enough about every employee who I met: reception, physician, nurse, x-ray tech....
I am fortunate to live in an area in the us which offers world renowned healthcare: Boston, Ma.
I have never been treated better at those hospitals, by their staffs.
Everyone who works at the NHS and in particular Wharfdale uc deserves praise, support and a liveable wage!!
