"A great example of a well-run, professional and caring service"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Podiatry

(as a parent/guardian),

I attended Podiatry Out-patients at QEUH, Glasgow with my teenage son for a procedure on his ingrown toenail.

The receptionist was polite, cheerful and professional. The waiting area was clean with plenty of seats. We were called through to see the podiatrist promptly and on time.

The podiatry team were truly excellent. We were met by Caroline, Nicole and their student Louise. We were instantly put at ease by their cheerful and professional manner. They took their time to explain the treatment options and made sure my son understood all the options fully before gaining his informed consent. Their good natured chat and easy-going humour helped my son relax so he was fully prepared and calm for the procedure.

The procedure itself was performed in a quick, painless and professional manner. Caroline and Nicole talked us through the procedure as they did it so we knew exactly what was happening. Afterwards we were given detailed instructions on aftercare and this was supported by an easy to read patient leaflet.

Overall this was a great example of a well-run, professional and caring service.

Dear perseuszr44

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback regarding your experience of attending the Podiatry Department of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with your son.

It was very touching to hear how the staff took the time to make you both feel welcomed into the department and provided a professional and caring service to your son throughout his stay.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to the team who I'm sure will be touched to hear you both had such a positive experience while under their care.

Kind regards

Kevin

Dear perseuszr44

'Thank you so much for your feedback regarding the appointment at podiatry in the QEUH.

We try our best to maintain our high standards of patient care so we are delighted that it was appreciated by you and your son at your appointment.

Nicole and Caroline are fabulous representatives of all that is good in the NHS and we have passed your feedback on to them.

We have also passed it onto our excellent admin staff and to our colleagues at the University to make sure our students are aware of it.

We take great pride in education and ensuring that the next generation of podiatrists are as good as they can be.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. It really is very much appreciated.

Kind regards

John Tougher, Specialist Podiatrist
