After going into the Victoria hospital for a colonoscopy after a bowel screening test came back positive, I got an appointment with Mr. Kaufman the oncology consultant.
The diagnosis was a shock at the time and you don't really take it in at the time, but Mr Kaufman was great and he reassured me and I was able to ask any questions I wanted to and he went over the options for me as well.
After that I went for my pre op appointment and then I got my appointment a week later and the operation went well and they managed to do keyhole surgery as well which is a lot quicker recovery too.
The care I received in the Victoria Hospital was amazing from my time in intensive care and ward 44 as well, particularly Elaine the nurse and Jackie the nursing auxiliary in ward 44.
I was in the Victoria hospital for a period of 5 days and I have nothing but praise for all of the staff that work there and the amazing job that they do.
"Amazing care for my bowel cancer operation"
