About: Sidwell Street Clinic / Exeter Sexual Health

Needed copper coil fitted. Felt exceptionally nervous (I’m in my 30s so you’d think I would be braver!). You hear horror stories about them hurting/ going wrong, etc. The doctor I saw was so very very kind, patient and explained everything clearly. I could ask questions without feeling rushed and also felt the decision was mine and I could change my mind at any time. We went ahead, everything was explained to me as it was happening. I also had a chaperone who was supportive, held my hand. It was over really quickly and then they made sure I was ok before I left. Again, didn’t feel rushed or a nuisance. I am very grateful to them.

It is perfectly understandable to be nervous especially if you haven't had this procedure done before.

I am so glad that you had such a positive experience with us and that the doctor was kind and patient and explained everything, so that you were able to make an informed decision and feel happy and comfortable.

I am also glad that you had a chaperone that supported you through the appointment, and they made sure to check on you after.
