"Early diagnosis of prostate cancer"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urology General practices in Forth Valley

(as a service user),

I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, following an PSA test, MRI and prostate biopsy procedure. The cancer is localised and I now have various treatment options, including active surveillance.

Throughout my consultations with my GP in Stirling and with the staff at Urology and X-Ray in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, I have been hugely impressed by the clear communication, empathic attitude and warmth of the nurses, doctor and other staff who have interacted with me.

Waiting times for results have been quite short compared to what they are in some other parts of the UK. I am very grateful for the NHS, and for the fantastic interpersonal and clinical skills of the staff.
