"Repeat Prescriptions"

About: The Oakley Health Group

Dear Practice Manager,

I write to complain about the length of time it has taken for a repeat prescription to reach the chemist. On the 28 February 2024, I submitted an online request but it only arrived at the chemist on the 4th March! The pharmacist explained that this delay was now happening quite frequently.

Please could you explain why the usual high standards of communication have suddenly dropped?

Yours sincerely,

Kathryn Bettison.

Dear Kathryn

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that you feel there was a delay in your prescription being issued to the chemist. We ask patients to allow 3 working days (Monday - Friday) for a prescription to be signed off by a GP. You submitted a request on Wednesday 28th February at 2.26pm & this was signed off by your GP on Monday 4th March at 11.22am. This means that it reached the pharmacy within 3 working days. I hope that this gives you the reassurance that we are keeping within the timeframe that we have always tried to adhere to.
