I returned to the UK with a wound from a burn and contaced NHS Direct, who instructed me to attend my nearest A and E (Glasgow Royal). Following triage, I was seen that night; I had the wound cleaned, and was given medicine and a referral to a burns clinic.
The appointment put my mind at rest. Everyone was polite, and the clinicians were professional and thorough. Whist I would rather not have had to wait, given I wasn't seriously ill, this wasn't a concern.
