"No luck with getting to see someone"

About: Leighton Road Surgery

(as a service user),

Have skin issue on the eye lid, i am concerned that my skin may be infected. I have tried to contact gp for an appointment, i was told that there was not any appointment available on that day.

I was advised to see a pharmacist, which i did. I went to see someone, i described my symptoms, the lady was kind and nice enough, she took my concern seriously. She gave me the cream that seems suitable for my symptoms. I have been using the cream as advised but my skin had got worst over time, the cream does not seem to be much help. My eye lid remains itching and burning at times, some small redness appear on my eye lid.

I tried to call the surgery for the third time, still have no luck with getting to see someone. I feel very let down by the system. I don't feel that there is any doctors or nurse are available at any time I have wanted to see someone.

I do not feel that there is much hope. I deeply feel that the system is not working.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that you have felt let down by the system and experienced difficulties booking appointments. In times of high demand appointments can get booked up before the Surgery closes and we are sorry if that has been your recent experience.

To address this issue we release additional appointments daily that can be booked over the telephone, at Reception or by using our online services if you have a registered account. To register for online services please visit https://www.leightonroadsurgery.nhs.uk/navigator/register-for-online-services/.

We would like the opportunity to discuss this with you in person and invite you to contact our Patient Experience & Communications Team at elft.bedspatient.experience@nhs.net or by calling the Surgery on 01525 372 571, option 6.

Kind regards, Leighton Road Surgery
