Our daughter was put in a palvik harness at 5 days old.
First we took her for a scan of her hips, the girls doing the scanning were brilliant with her at each and took their time. After the scan we waited on another nurse to get results. This is when we were told about the movement in her hips and that one side wasn’t how it should be. It was something we weren’t expecting and a very overwhelming day.
The nurses at Musgrave were absolutely fantastic at explaining everything and making sure we understood what it was for and how it would help. They reassured us about it all and made sure we were all ok before leaving. We were offered harness checks every couple of weeks to make sure the harness fitted ok and to make sure everyone was happy. The girls had given us their work number if we ever needed them and were always easy to get a hold of when we did need them.
They were the most fantastic team we couldn’t have had any better. They definitely made the 12 weeks a lot easier.
