I was struggling with a lot of stress and anxiety that was causing me to have consistent panic attacks, as well as overwork myself as I was unable to say no to people. I constantly felt tired, scared to leave my flat, and was struggling to complete university work and enjoy myself at anything. I decided to go to my doctor for help, and got referred to the Change up group at the Dundee Adult Psychological Services. The group really helped me identify the thoughts and behaviours that were feeding my anxiety and how to limit them to avoid such tense and overwhelming emotions. It also helped show me that small steps and building up to my main goal is a good way to work through my struggles and get into a routine that was comfortable and worked for me. Since the group I am now able to spot the original symptoms of my anxiety which helps me stop the spiral or the attack. I have also been able to prioritise myself and my health, ultimately leading to me feeling better.
