"You gave us the gift of life"

I recently gave birth to my son at the consultant led maternity unit VHK. Despite my labour not going as we may have envisaged, the care and treatment we received as a family was second to none. Every staff member who was part of our experience was caring, compassionate and supportive.

A particular thanks to Rebecca, the midwife that stayed with us throughout the duration of her day shift until our son was born. She really is a credit to the team. Secondly a heartfelt thanks to Andy the registrar, who actually delivered our son after I had to get episiotomy.

I was hugely anxious about this procedure and he performed this with the utmost skill. He was incredibly reassuring, funny and kind - another credit to the team. I cannot thank you all enough. You gave us the gift of life and I will never forget the care we all received.
