"Gold standard care"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / 23 Hour Unit ( Ward 1A) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Day surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

Two of my daughters aged 2 and 4 had to have kidney surgery on the same day yesterday. I am also breastfeeding a 5 month old baby which meant she had to also be with us on the day. Both of daughters suffer from medical trauma from previous procedures and were very anxious on the day, as were both myself and my husband. 

I have no words to fully express how wonderful each and every member of staff we encountered throughout the day were. They truly went above and beyond to make an extremely stressful experience that little bit easier. We were included in decisions about their care and everything was done to ensure my girls felt comfortable. I am so grateful to the staff at ward 1AB for a very positive experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was delighted to hear the care and treatment both your daughters received from our staff was to a high standard and they felt well cared for in what I can only imagine was a very stressful time for all the family.

I was glad to hear the staff supported you and your husband and took the time to make sure your daughters were both made to feel comfortable, especially after their previous experiences.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to the team who I'm sure will be touched to hear your kind words. It really means a lot the staff.

I hope the girls are recovering well back at home and they are feeling a lot better after their kidney surgery.
