Sent for a colonoscopy due to blood in routine faeces sample. When it was first mentioned that I needed a colonoscopy I was anxious. I did not know what to expect, but then received a phone call from the dept to explain why a colonoscopy was needed and a full explanation of what would happen, with a chance to ask any questions. This was followed by written information which explained everything in detail. Including exactly what I could eat 4 days prior to the procedure and how to use the laxative.
I could not have asked for more detail and instruction. Everything was very clear.
On arrival for my appointment I was treated with friendliness and courtesy. Pre assessment nurse put me at ease and then took me through for preparation. Everything went very smoothly. Treated very professionally at all times.
Thankyou so much North Devon District Hospital. The NHS at its best.
