"A massive thank you to the whole team"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

About 12 months ago, I began to suffer with sore joints and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Being diagnosed with a life long illness was a bit of a shock and I found it a bit overwhelming at first.

The multidisciplinary RA team at Inverclyde Royal have been fantastic.  Everyone from my consultant, physios and occupation therapy have been great but especially my specialist nurse, Amanda.

Amanda has seen me regularly in clinic and walked me through the different treatments with the goal of getting me into remission.  She has supported me with advice and information and her kind and approachable manner has enabled me to feel confident of my future prognosis.

The rheumatology advice line respond to any requests for advice between appointments and it is great to have that as a patient resource.

With so many appointments to attend, it is great that this service is provided at my local hospital in Inverclyde and I hope that this speciality remains available and doesn't get moved to another hospital within GGC.

I am so very grateful and would like to say a massive thank you to the whole team.

Dear JaneRA

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I can only imagine how you felt after your diagnosis, but it is heartening to read about the care and support you have received from the Rheumatology Team at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, especially Amanda. It is lovely to read about how Amanda has supported you and that you now feel confident regarding your prognosis. I am glad that you find the helpline helpful and that you can contact them for advice as and when required.

It means a lot to the staff when people take the time to share their feedback and recognise their hard work and dedication, and I’d like to thank you on their behalf.

Best wishes

Nicole
